It's yet another MIA for 6-7 months.....many things have happen....
I can say I was clueless, passive, discouraged in the first half of the year, waiting for a breakthrough and the opportunity to escape from the black hole. I devoted some time to my kendo and became so dedicated for awhile that physically I was in better shape than ever. Right now, I'm graded as 1st kyu, a grade just below black belt. It will be a defining moment when I cross into a whole new world of serious kendo.
My kendo activities have now tapered down to twice weekly training due to other commitments. I am now busy studying in a short postgrad course to enhance my analytical techniques and demonstrating in the First Year Chemistry labs while searching for opportunities. It is a harsh reality that without residency, jobs are few and far between.
However, there are still some up-lifting news. Now I can officially say that my honours research results have been published in Australian Journal of Chemistry, Vol 62 No. 7. I would like to thank my supervisor for giving me an opportunity to be in his group as a honours student and engaging in research, without him I wouldn't be where I am now. Additionally, I have been granted a telephone interview for a established organization, hope everything goes smoothly. This interview could be a turning point in my life...
