Sunday was one of the lousier days of the start of the rat year. I got pickpocket!!! Curse that woman who did that to me!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was walking out of Broadway Shopping Centre’s main entrance along Bay Street at around 5.15pm. I walked past Grose Street and Rebel Sport (sporting wear shop) and round a bend towards the traffic lights. At that moment, I heard someone calling out to me if I lost anything. I checked my bag and discovered my wallet was missing. This middle aged Caucasian man named Andre Storer who is an eyewitness told me he was standing outside of Broadway Shopping Centre smoking and saw an aboriginal woman following me from behind and found the right moment to fiddle with my sling bag. He tried to chase her to take a closer look to see if she was holding anything as her back was facing him. Then soon after he saw her running across the road into another building, just opposite Broadway Shopping Centre and tried to give chase but lost her. After that he quickly called out to me. Both of us tried to trace back the route the pickpocket took. We tried to look in the toilets and trash cans to see if my wallet was discarded. However, the wallet was not found. Andre brought me to Leichhardt Local Area Command Police Station at 1-3 Talfourd Street Glebe NSW 2037 to report this incident. He also narrated what he saw to the police.

Now I hope I get back my wallet and cards.....haiz....its so inconvenient. Luckily, I took out some cards and photos few days ago. This incident reminded me of the fortune I saw in Bugis Street. For those born in the year of the ox, this year will 破财 but 会遇到贵人. Come to think about it, it's quite true....

On a lighter note, I've watched the Shanghai Blues starring William So, Emma Yong and Mindee Ong in the Esplanade on the 2nd day of CNY. It was my last get together with my best pal April before I leave behind the Lehs and Lahs to a country who likes to say Cheers. The musical was quite interesting with a theme of searching for your soul mate you met under the bridge during WWII, after the war. There wasn't surprises to the ending as compared to Beauty World. One of the props I find innovative was the "bridge", the planks of wood can be used as a staircase as well as elevated to form a illusion of a bridge. Other than that, more props can be included in as what April commented. The main focus was watching Emma sing, I love her singing alot! She has the charismatic voice that's crystal clear and soothing, full of emotion and vigour. Personally I feel her singing prowess was better than Mindee Ong. I think William So was quite good due to his past experience in singing.

When there's intermission, April spotted a person wearing a cheongsum and it turned out to be Kit Chan mingling with a group of people. Later, a fan wanted to take a photo with her but was rejected. As we are moving back into the theatre, we bumped into one of our GESS classmate, Wai Yin. I couldn't recognise her...it took me a while. It's 6 years already since I last met her. It's nice to know that Singapore is small that we can bump into familiar people in places like the Esplande.

Right after the musical, we went to a food centre just right next to the Esplanade. It was the first time I was there...what a mountain turtle I was...=.= While we were tucking into carrot cake and hokkien mee, April spotted Emma sitting with her family having supper! The very next minute, she was spotted exchanging words with Beatrice Chia and Mark Richmond, later she went to another table of artists and crew. While she was queueing at the drink stall, I quickly requested to take a photo with her! Luckily, she graciously said sure! I was so lucky!! :D

I forgot to mention April got me the rabbit from Mother Garden, I named her Miffy thinking she was Miffy...ok long story...anyway she's a loveable bunny with a red pokka dot dress with matching bow on her ears and shoes to complete her look!

The year of the pig has ended and the rat year begins. It will be a rat race for me to complete the high possibilty of the last year of my undergraduate years in Uni. Beyond this year, it's hard to predict how it will turn out to be. Options have to be open so that I move forward. Well, I predict more late nights scratching my head, my back hunch over the NMR machine and dealing with the ever smiley classmates who are not what they seem be. It will be me battling it out to emerge victorious among the treacherous people. It will be a game I have to play all year round.
