Today, met up with my aunt at Lucky Plaza to collect some currency and coins which she used to collect but not anymore. So i get to add some more to my collection. While i was waiting for my aunt, i saw quite a number of shops selling perfume in this shopping centre. I think the shop in front of mac sells perfume quite cheaply as i can see quite a number of customers browsing this tiny shop. Even have the Boss Women perfume i bought few days ago. Aunt Elsie brought me to Lucky Food Centre at B1 99/101 in Lucky Plaza to eat River Valley Nasi Lemak. It was during the lunch hour and took me 20 to 25 mins to queue up. I got myself a set 4 consisting of otah, fish, eag, curry vege and cuttlefish chip together with a slice of cucumber and a helping of chilli. Ahh...how can chilli be missing in the combination. Never. Of course i bought a packet for my mom too. It cost $3 per set which is quite reasonable as u can't find anything cheaper in Orchard. The chilli is hot and quite sweet and tasted great with the fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk. Cuttlefish chip is one of my fav. Too much chilli makes my nose runny and gradually feel the chilli abit salty but overall this lunch is quite tasty. Ur can try and tell me whether i am right. ^.^

Today so much fun when SJ and JH came over to my house to play and watch anime. Ate mac in my living room followed by SJ had a great time watching Hikaru No Go in computer room. Non stop 3h...While JH and myself played Clocktower 3 which JH wanted me to play. Actually i'm the 1 moving the character and we both navigate together so a guide is not that necessary except some parts we are stuck fiuring out. We played for continously 4h! The game is about a girl who received a message from her mom warning her not to go back to her old house before her 15th birthday. Aiyah...u know lah...games are like that. Alyssa of course went back lah and battling the crazy and pyscho killers that are possessed by spirits. During the course of playing, the music is such that it will make u jump. Some more the pyscho killers can just appear from nowhere scaring the daylights out of us...the funny thing is JH was screaming while i was laughing. I just find the whole thing funny, maybe the reaction of JH ba. hehe...but i had a great time. But sometimes the irritating butterflies distract Alyssa from running and get frighten by the killer so much that she enters panic phase where she can't run properly or even splashing holy water at the killer. I will say "fai di fai di" or "faster faster cannot die". Just 4h and we are all almost completing the game. I think take another 3 to 4 to complete the last 2 bosses. So much faster than a rpg game. FFX can take as long as 70 hours to complete. Now so many games waiting for me to play, ahhh....just not enough holidays.

22/02/04 entry
I got myself an FFX guide book for 15 from a seller before i set off to Clarke Quey.
I went Clarke Quey Flea Market on sunday, a fav getaway after a week of term tests. I came armed with Leica camera shootting at possible nice scenery. I slowly strolled towards Clarke Quey along River Valley Road towards the stalls. I had a great time browsing the things people wil sell. Sometimes stall vendors have weird trinkets and stuff for sale to Mao memorabilia to even my favourite genre which is mini figurines sold in the second floor of The Cannery. I got myself a Jay figurine and mini jap bento set figurine which is random, come in sealed boxes waiting to be ripped open by me! Yeah! Got Maksim:The Piano Player cd, love this album alot thanks to recommendation by JH, especially love Exocus. There's a alluring tune...haha...must be thinking i'm crazy but anyway its how it sounds.
22/02/04 is also a solemn day for me. One of my hamsters was put to sleep. Feel so sad for the hammie, she had been sick with ear irritation to infection. I had brought her to the vet on two occasions, only recovering during the course of medication but later falling under the hands evil of disease. A few days before putting her to sleep, I gave her more of her favourite food which is sunflower seeds, something i know pleases her. RIP my beloved. *Sobs*

Movie of the Week! 20/02/04
Something's Gotta Give -----------Spoiler alert……..dun read if u want to watch…………
After PCI term test, we (Leslie,Hewei,Si jia, Jia Hui and myself) went to CS to catch a movie. I was in favour of watching Along Came Polly featuring Jennifer Aniston, as u know as teenagers we like to watch beautiful people on screen. Jia Hui and Si Jia wanted to catch the above titled movie so we went along with it. I was thinking we are going to watch an oldie show with quite a few veteran actors and actresses maybe except for Keanu Reeves. The show started with a scene of Jack Nicholson as Harry,a matured(i meant old) man and a very young and pretty gf, Marin going to a house in a countryside. Along with all the filting, Marin’smom name Erica came home with her sister to find a stranger in the house. It was a funny misunderstanding and in the end the four of them spend a dinner together. That night, the pretty gf was having a fun time with Harry till he got an heart attack. Must be too excited...lolz...so Erica did CPR on him. In the end Harry was made to rest near the hospital and end up u know where. Erica was rather pissed to find this man having to recuperate in her house where she both stay and work as a playwright. Around 2am, she wanted to change into her night wear and Harry just walked in. U know lah…he had a lame excuse of thinking it’s the kitchen. Awkward moments next morning and some innocent walk along the beach to further develop their relationship. Erica had a date with Harry’s doc (Keanu Reeves! JH fav). There was a part where Harry chatted with Erica through the net and they both ended up meeting in the kitchen for a snack of pancakes. It was rather funny inviting some 1 in the house to meet each other who are like just 10 steps away. They were about to come to the u know what moment when Marin walked in to surprise them. From the scene, can see Erica and Harry have shown an interest with each other liao. Of course being a woman and Marin too, can sense something is brewing. So broke up with Harry…and both of them “drop into a river full of love”. That’s such a Chinese saying I think. Then u know what happen…..quite XX but tastefully done. There’s a passion scene, cutting of turtleneck white shirt by Harry, so I was thinking maybe she wore turtleneck because of her divorce and hence lost her confidence in men, wore turtleneck to keep her distance. On the other hand, JH commented she is conservative. Harry recovered and went back to the city. Marin called about her future stepmother who’s ard her age she freak. So Erica went to the city to meet up her ex husband and future wife for dinner in a restaurant, in the midst of dinner, she changed from a confident modern woman to a heartbroken woman. The sight of Harry in the arms of a young lady……… U know what happen next…all the running and chasing thingy.. but I realized Diane Keaton is really amazing actress who can act in this heart wrenching scene! I can really feel the despair and disappointment for this man she love so deeply. I can feel a tear or two rolling… Erica was waiting for a good explanation but it came to a nought so she picked the leftover pieces of her broken heart and hailed a taxi. Haiz….a man with a stomach full of pride just couldn’t say the 3 magic words. Later he suffered a “heart attack” again but found it to be heart ache. 6 months drag with no news of each other, both met in a Paris restaurant, Erica dating the doc much to Harry’s disappointment. There were two things in this scene I like. A scene of Harry looking at something and took out his long sighted glasses which actually belong to Erica and vice versa. Ah…some weird chemistry. Another one was when the doc took out a red velvet box and gave Erica. Harry left rather despondingly and came to a bridge and cried manly tears. Ah….how can a movie not end with happy ending…….She chased after him and both hugged……..In the last scene, ”Table for 4 ½”, Harry said. I smiled.
This movie is witty, charming and clever romance story. This is one of my favourites this year and have a feeling this movie will be up for Oscars for Best Screenplay, Best Actress and Best Actor. Lolz.... Mark my words. When the dvd come out for this movie, I might buy it!! Region 1!!
Now for the sumptuous dinner at DING TAI FENG!! Table for 4!! Jasmine, JH, SJ and myself were sampling the fragrant tea after we sat down. We came down to order some specialties recommended by SJ. We ordered steamed pork dumplings, steam crabmeat & pork dumpling, steamed shrimp & pork dumpling , yang chon men, hk kalian, tofu with vermicelli, fried pork cutlet and tau sa bao. Hehe….what a spread right? I was eagar to try the food here a few months ago, only to get my chance on 20/02/04. The yang chon men has slightly springy handmade noodles and mellow soup, quite pleasing to the tastebuds. My all time favourite vege! Hk kalian which is topped with fried onions and is especially soft and crunchy. Next comes out pork dumplings! I gingerly pick the dumplings and dipped in vinegar. The first bite in the mouth will release the hot gravy with pork filling. Hmmmm…heavenly. All the dumplings have these similar soupy greatness in them. Its best eaten hor or it loses its effect when its cold. Tofu with vermicelli was so-so. The fried pork ribs was tender, spicy and delicious even though slightly salty. Tau sa bao is not too sweet which is good…… Whole dinner at 19 bucks each, quite a satisfying dinner. Took some pics outside…hehe…will pose it soon. But I was busy eating and forgot to take pics of our food!!!! Sobs…….
Later that night, we went to Swissotel hotel and went up to the 70 storey and I saw a beautiful city streets bath in night lights. I couldn’t help snapping pictures with some expert advice from Jasmine. SJ and JH went up to see noisy environment of a bar and commented the crowd is too old for us plus noisy and smoky with poor lighting. In the end we went down to a lounge, which wasn’t too interesting that we left to try Long Bar in Raffles Hotel just across the road. When we walked in, I could feel the floor was slippery and hear crunching sounds, I realized peanut shells were strewned all over the floor! JH had fun littering the ground…lolz…I thought the cleaners were pitiful having to clean the floors every night.
The setting in the pub is quite soothing with a authentic bar with bartender serving drinks dimly lit by green antique looking lamps, have a feeling I was transported into another era. The servers are dressed in what looks like batik with Hawaiian style kind of feeling. We were led to a table for 4 consisting of 2 rattan chairs and comfy sofa chairs. I was intrigued by those 1960s hand fans that are moving above us in synchronized manner. Lolz…we ordered 1 margarita and Singapore Sling plus fries to go with them. Margarita was a lemon or lime mild acohol that tasted tat bit bitter, I could feel a fuzzy warmness in myself after sips. Singapore Sling is something unique which is what tourists will order. Its alcoholic punch that didn’t strike a chord with me as it has an after taste that I didn’t like, still like margarita better. There was a live band above playing some oldies which I think was quite soothing. Overall, it’s a pleasant experience. It would be nice to visit again but with more people as it gets rather boring.

Was actually quite looking forward to Bpharm practical. Events didn't turn out as what i expected sia. Our practical was to adminster drug through 3 routes of administration into white mice. Some were afraid of them while some guys are quite gungho about the whole mice thingy. Handling the mice was ok to me when other group members didn't want to do it. I had hamsters as pets anyway. Anyway, weighing them was quite easy. Next its the intraperitoneal administration, grabbed the mice after a small struggle and injected with drug. However, after injecting...didn't see the mice being sedated, maybe the angle was wrong. Then we move on to the next one for subcutaneous. This mouse is 1 naughty and knotty fella, struggling alot and escaping from my grip. Plus i didn't want to press to hard in case i hurt any of its tiny little systems. Before i know it, that notty mouse just bit into my thumb. I only responded after like 1 to 2 secs before i felt pain. Then blood flowed slightly, quickly rush over to sink and wash the wound. Then the lab technician, Dino, wonder if spelling is right came over and ask me if i was all right. I felt ok for a few minutes and slowly felt my head was light and can feel bit dizzy. Slowly can feel the light darkening around my vision and pitch black for awhile. Even though my legs felt wobbly and soft, i can still hear people talking. Sounds like Chamaine is a ex red cross or st.john member, like qungen...hmmmm....i was rolled to my side with my head resting on my right hand. I was told to rest...blahblah...slowly can feel some parts of my body attacked by "pins and needles". I was better after about like 10 mins....then kind Dino told me to rest int her comfortable arm chair in her office in the lab. She graciously offered to buy a cup of hot drink too. Then Ms Ong and some girls came in to ask about my condition. i smiled back at them. Yanzhen was abit helpful by providing me some sweets. U go gurl! After more resting, now back to doing the practical with the help of Dino! Ok now my thoughts....wah...cannot believe i'll ever faint loh....I nv faint in my life except maybe the last time was very much younger which is like primary school. Its half faint...haha....didn't exactly black out. I can think of some answers to fainting....let's see.... Sijia's theory: water going into the blood vessels and reduce blood volume hence lower bp hence fainting spell Jia Hui's suggested theory: That i was afraid of blood..?! how is that possiable =.=' My theory: Never exercise regularly for like 2 years since secondary school days and body system is not that great as it use to be. Haiz...really missed those ultra fit days, slogging in Kallang Basin....haiz...sigh...Now i wanna to start jogging again...hopefully can be much stronger. Another theory is maybe i was hungry and all the blood concentrated at the stomach and less at the skin hence the fainting spell. Agrhghrh...anyway overall just very malu.

Went Bodyworld today! Yippee! Not alone to watch and gawk at human exhibits. Together had gawking fun time with Pei e and Audrey! Wah.....really educational....All the various poses of different human exhibits exposing their guts and all. Not really gross but interesting. Maybe its because of our core studies in medical area. Along the way, cracking some lame jokes and all. But i have something to say is that these people dontated their body for the seek of educated the masses is quite admirable. We do really need to respect them.

I quickly sms Sijia about the deal and we became two crazy giggly hayenas.....wahahah....I can simply upgrade my contract and get the phone at 591. Sijia had to do some preparatory work to do in order to get the phone. It was quite amazing and amusing that she can come up with so many scenerios to get her hands on that phone. Example asking many aunts about their current plans. Haha...somemore so paiseh walking into singtel shop at least 4 times asking enquries within a time frame of 1 hour. The people there must be quite irritated..haha We got our respective representatives to bugis to do a final showdown! Yeah!! Historic moment!!!* Dang dang dang dang* My very first selected choice of phone in two years! Yes! Too elated liao....Ahhh..can faint..pls someone help me plz!!!!!

wah....so sux...didn't know yesterday was Chingay. I went to Taka to collect chocolate and experienced being squach by sardines or pancakes. So pissed with all the pushing and shoving, and just glared at those inconsiderate Singaporeans. Orchand mrt was packed with people and those smrt staff closed off some entrances and make people walk out from the entrance opposite Borders. I walked all the way to Taka get my chocolates and tried to think of way to get home. I walked from Taka to Liang Court thinking bus 143 will come and was wrong.ZZzzzzz......along the way saw many people in colourful customes with tourists in every corner. Those on the stands were mainly caucasions and some china tourists. Lucky few who get to watch Chingay up high. Hey....my koream friend can be sitting in one of these stands in the future. When my korean friend wants to visit Singapore, can tell her about Chingay...heee...So pissed off when no buses stop and taxis are occupied!! Finally got a taxi opposite Liang Court and escaped from this mess. All for the seek of chocolates.......
