Yesterday, I had a nice lunch of Indian crusine. After OSH quizzes, its time to unwind!! Yeah!! Jia Hui, her friend, Shani, Yogesh and I decided to eat lunch in Little India!! We went to Saranvan Abhavan restaurant along Belilios Lane to eat and found out from Yogesh that this restaurant is a franchise of a popular restaurant in India! ok...now focus on food. When i went into the restaurant, i have an instant feeling of being in a fast food outlet...no offense though...but some how i feel it should have an exotic Indian feel. But anyway, nice food is the major part here..heh..Yogesh recommended us to eat Poori set. It comes with 2 pieces of "chapati lookalike", pardon my ignorance, with 2 side dishes. With school's pushing for PBL learning, i independently asked Yogesh what are the names for the various food which is the "chapati lookalike" is actually poori la that accompanies dhal and potato masala. We can quench our thirst which is a favourite for indians is a yellow drink call badam kheer. Strange it may seem, just imagine it is bundung disguising in yellow coat...hehehe...It tasted foreign at first but gradually has a milk taste. The potato masala and dhal were nice....oops is nice even now..heh.. After this, i was still hungry and Yogesh treated me with 2 samosas that look like "bazhang" shape. It tasted rich and great to eat with a tinge of spices. The potato filling and crisp skin.......Upon watching table after table being served with metal cups, I was enlighten it was actually coffee not teh terik. I couldn't resist myself and ordered a cup. It came with a metal cup with coffee and about 5 cm high metal saucer. Yogesh do a teh terik treatment to it when it was set on the table. I caught a whiff of coffee fragrance...."This gonna be another heavenly drink," I thought. It was indeed true when i first sip it, its specially brewed and eh..its not ur typical 3 in 1 coffee. I was delighted with the array of food I ate.

Next, we went through a pasar malam nearby which sold many punjabi dresses and Shani was browsing, hoping to find a bargain. After viewing so many shops, we came by a little corner offering Henna services! It was priced S$5 a hand. I got myself a Henna on my left hand!!! I chose a simple design however it became slightly complicated and differ a little from my choice...haiz...but its ok. I'm not very particular anyway. From then on, i had to be aware of my surroundings, worrying not to bump into people or clothes that come in the way and spoil the henna design. It was a close shave once, lucky. Right after we finished browsing i make my way home, occasionally getting glances from other people, must be the henna, the eye catching degisn!
