With the movie screening timing nearing 8.30pm on 25/09/05, movie goers were streaming in, smells of Yoshinoya to Pizza Hut whiffing, this is the Nokia’s Outdoor Movie Screening event at the Padang. JH and myself were sitting on a mat 40m from the screen enjoying our space but to be interrupted by a family of 5 in front of us who “chap” into the minute space. I was appalled. Luckily, I was diverted by the illuminating orange hues of the Supreme Court on my right which very much remind me about the Bund in Shanghai.
As the show progresses into its 15 minutes, a drizzle became rain droplets and went on to pour every now and then. Our umbrellas cannot defeat the forces of nature even if we tried to hang on to the last. Then as rain water start to seep into our clothes, we literally abandon ship and exited disappointedly. Luckily for a couple I caught sight, had two deck chairs and huge umbrellas to ward off the rain.

Even though, the movie viewing was a flop, it’s the whole nostalgic experience I would not forget.

Last Sunday, was one of the most anticipated days of the year because I’m watching Xue Lang Hu with Li Leng! Travelling to Singapore Indoor Stadium was inconvenient due to upgrading works of the National Stadium. As we approached the entrance, we were prevented from bringing our water bottles inside. This rule is probably to help generate income for the 7-11 inside which I find irritated as we are forced to buy drinks. I muttered to myself that I’ll never buy the drinks. Our seats were located at a level above providing a fantastic overview of the stage.

The curtains rolled up for the first segment.

A ballroom full of rich aristocrats were swirling to the bead of the music. Then one of Ning Jing Xue’s (lead actress, Evonne Hsu) pursuers pluck Lang Hu’s (lead actor, Jacky Cheung) well tended flowers. Lang Hu quarreled with him and was fired from his job. Later, Xiao Xue went up to Lang Hu hoping to find out more about him. This simple acquaintance pave a way to a romantic and cliché heart wrenching love story of a poor gardener and a rich girl.
So how can a pair of lovers go without a third party? So Xiao Xue’s sister, Ning Yu Feng ( supporting actress, Nnadia Chan) became Hu Lang secret admirer.

This show’s highlights were Jacky Cheung, Evonne Hsu and Nnadia Chan.
Overall, the show’s story was weak but was saved by the amazing singers in the production.

Comex 2005 last weekend, was a long waited computer and gadgets fair. One of my favourite events to visit. On the first visit, I just surveyed the two levels of computers and gadgets for like only 1 hour plus on thursday after work. I wasn't able to see much. So I came back on saturday after my guzheng lesson and have a thorough combing of level 4....

JH was looking for a laptop and was interested in buying the NEC laptop with pretty good specifications at affordable price of ard $2099 with DVD burner and 1gb ram (upgraded). My Toshiba S2 don't have DVD burner and only 512mb ram..zzz..but heh heh...*looking surreptitiously at JH* But anyway, I'm satisfied with my laptop, my mate. If I decide to,I can still upgrade my RAM to 1gb but need at least $200....looking forward to the next fair.

Some bargains I bagged are Genius webcam at $15, bought 3 units. The picture quality only 0.3 pixel, bit pathetic but since still can see the feature of the face, it's still workable.

Microsoft Optical Mouse for my lap mate, a ergonomic design meant for the hand and other special features like magnifer and tilt wheel plus a sleek design too. Perfect for my lap mate.

So how can a mouse be the lone ranger, it has to be accompnied by mousepad! I got myself a Barracuda mousepad with attractive design and anti slip feature.

Then I got myself a 60gb external hard disk to store all my music files, pictures and many more stuff so that I wouldn't have to clutter my lap mate with the load. Heheh....

Then my dad ask me to buy a 512mb thumbdrive and the cheapest buy was at Kingston booth. They sold Trek brand thumbdrive at $64 and the price drop to $60 closer to closing time. I was bit delighted to get it cheaper. So it can be a plus to buy stuff nearer to the closing hour but risk not having the product u want.

All these stuff would be so useful when I go overseas to study......
